VXD mechanics parts preparation2015 Sep. • Phase 2 (should be prepared before 2016 summer) • Outer cover with brackets: First gluing test finished in last week • AL-myler sheet will be glued in the cover(or outside of the cover) • (CFRP company can do this gluing) • End-flange: we have it • End-ring and CFRP support cone: not used in phase 2 • Heavy metal shields; (Meeting with company in next week) • Beam pipe: done • Parylene C coating will be adopted to Be area • Support jig for coating process is on preparation • Beam pipe brackets: (no update now) • Jig design of transportation tool “SVD division-> VXD table” is ongoing • PXD mount block: need to prepare in JFY2015 • VXD assembly table: no update • VXD dock ring: need to prepare in JFY 2015 (MPI) • VXD transport and installation tools (before 2016 summer)
Support frame for BEAST pipe coating CFRP gluing , SVD division support frame Belle 1 Dock ring (found at dust box)
Al myler gluing • AL mylar is glued on the outer surface of CFRP cover • NTC/FOS sensors can be glued on inner surface of CFRP • The cable path is the same with other VXD services • The position of sensors should be defined by SVD group
VXD mechanics parts preparation(2015 July) • Phase 3(should be prepared before the end of 2017: SVD parts are before the end of 2016 for starting ladder mount) • Outer cover with brackets: • End-flange: production design will be shown in next VXD meeting • End-ring and CFRP support cone: • Heavy metal shields;(Quotation is done. The cost seems acceptable) • Beam pipe: on production (inner/outer tube will be delivered in Oct.) • Beam pipe brackets: (no update) • PXD mount block: (no update) • Support structure for PXD PP and VXD outer service(by MPI group) • VXD dock ring: need to prepare in 2017 (MPI)
New design of shorter diamond package The design was sent to Tscharlie to see if it fits the available space. The important point for him is that outside the diameter 47mm nothing must disturb the PXD, and it doesn’t. Then the easiest - he proposes - is to press cable and diamond package on the beampipe with a M1.4 screw. Next slides two sketches from Tscharlie with 2D and 3D processing for the cable channel of support on the Beampipe. L.Vitale - SVD(VXD) Monitoring
Sketch a possible 2D processing for the cable channel of support on the Beampipe. L.Vitale - SVD(VXD) Monitoring
Sketch with a 3D processing (more elegant and safer for the cable) L.Vitale - SVD(VXD) Monitoring
End flange design for phase3 • Request from Tscharlie for PXD PP space • Making additional screw holes for HM shield connection. This modification is only adopted for FWD because of less stiffness of BWD screw. A tentative design will be introduced in the next VXD mechanics meeting
VXD issues • MARCO system certification • Who/how to ? • Which group can pay for CO2 piping cost in the hall?
Connection of VXD with CDC It should be finalized before Oct. B2GM Design by FWD: MPI (pin connection and hole for Emergency extraction) BWD: KEK(the same as Belle case) VXD Mockup
VXD assembly and installation • After the VXD installation, we have a chance to measure VXD/beam pipe position. • If we found displacement of BP position than designed, • Should we dismantle the VXD? (tolerance < 0.5mm) or • Can we control VXD position by somehow method? • QCS position alignment should be finished before VXD installation • Before BEAST phase2 VXD installation, VXD installation+Emergency dismantle test should be verified by mockup? • Reference information(position control on each connection): • BP+HM: by bracket (the bracket shape should be optimized in order to absorb BP deformation) • BP+PXD mount blocks: after the measurement, mount block design should be optimized to fit design position) • HM + End-flange: screws with pins • End-flange + outer cover : screws with pins • End-flange + outer connection ring: screws with pins
Discussion topics in near term • B2GM satellite mechanics meeting (17th afternoon) • BP+HM+PXD(mock) connection • VXD service +monitor • SVD halve division-> VXD table • BP+HM+PXD+SVD • (discussion) how to handle VXD from B1 to B4 • 22nd B2GM(2015 Oct.) • Gemba: • SVD mount + service installation @ mount table • SVD service management@ mount table and VXD table • MARCO certification (with Kimura-san?) • PXD service mount procedure(from trans. Box until attachment) • Monitor attachment • BEAST phase2 setup • VXD system test setup (trigger?) • Summarizing VXD assembly procedure and pointing out missing items

2, 22th B2GM (19th-23th)I want to have satellite meeting from 17th afternoon (including SVDmechanics session) Please consider it for your trip plan.a, VXD assembly demonstration until BP+HM+PXD+SVD completion(short term Milestone).b, mechanics design + discussion-> decisionc, IBBelle + Piping work (to B1 room, to E-hut) + SVD cooling piped, Certification of MARCO (discussion with Kimura-san If needed) follow up discussion of MPI meeting
VXD assembly steps • Remaining tasks are • Transportation from SVD ladder mount table to VXD table • Transportation from VXD table to B4 • Now mechanical assembly steps are almost cleared. • Management of large amount of cables and pipes are main issues.
Cosmic ray test in B1 room Rachid Ayad
We should try Emergency VXD extraction By VXD mock
VXD services (between VXD and QCS) • Cooling pipe and BPM cable should be green hatch area. • Red area is movable, then such component should not be located 7mm clearance is agreed between VXD and RVC The design work should be finished before Sep. Service test is scheduled in Sep. at MPI.
K. Gadow RVC design for Belle II RVC meeting in Apr. at KEK (K.Gadow, K.Kanazawa) RVC design is almost agreed (screw hole issue)
