  1. A MODEL OF EDUCATION FOR MATHEMATICS TEACHER IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS (FROM GRADES 6 TO 9) IN THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA FOR THE 21st CENTURYDaniel A. 2. ABSTRACTIn this paper we give a new concept of education for mathematics teacher in primary schools (from grades 6 to 9) in the Republic of Srpska. This concept of teacher education for Middle School Mathematics and Informatics, which should be complete in five (3+2) years, has (in the first cycles) only ten mathematical courses including three which are designed for specific subject competences. This new concept includes five courses in mathematical-humanistic domain (didactics of mathematics) and humanistic-mathematical domain (research of mathematics educations). Applying it, we would acquire better educated mathematics and informatics teachers in Middle Schools with more specific competences. 3. In this paper we give a new concept of mathematics teacher education for higher grades of primary schools (from grades 6 to 9) in the Republic of Srpska. This new concept of teacher education for Middle School Mathematics and Informatics, which should be realized in five years (three years in first cycle and two in the second cycle), has (in the first cycles) only ten mathematical courses. From those, three courses are designed for specific and necessary subject competences. The new concept includes five mathematical-humanistic courses (didactics of mathematics) and humanistic-mathematical courses (research of mathematics educations). Applying this model we would not only get mathematicians but instead we would acquire better educated teachers in Middle School Mathematics and Informatics with more specific competences then they receive now.
