Famous Texans Sam Houston Considered a hero in the eyes of Texans. He helped Texas win the war with Mexico. Was once the President of the Republic of Texas, and Later became the governor of Texas. Stephen F. Austin Known as the father of Texas, helped colonize Texas in the beginning.
Famous Texans Lyndon B. Johnson 36th President of the United States and a Proud Texan from Johnson City, Texas. Johnson took over the oval office after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas. George W. Bush 42nd and Current President of the United States. He is not originally from Texas, but he got here as soon as he could. Bush was once the Governor of the great state. He also owns a large ranch near Crawford, Texas.
