  2. How many calories are there in a doughnut? • There are 185 calories in a plain doughnut.

  3. How does someone work out the number of calories they burn when running? • Weight yourself on a scale. Write down your weight. • Multiply your body weight by 0.75. Write down the answer and this is your total calories burned per mile. • Multiply the answer in step 2 by the number of miles you run. This is the total number of calories you burned while running.

  4. How many calories will get burnt for a weight 52.3 kg in 1 km • 52.3kg x 0.75= 39.225 calories burned per mile. • So, 39.225 x 52.3 = 2051.4675 total number of calories burnt in 1 km.

  5. How far would this person have to run to burn the calories that are in a doughnut? • 2051.4675 / 185= 11.09 Km per hour.

  6. How can knowing how to do arithmetic with decimals help you make good health decisions? • By knowing exactly your body weight. For example after eating you can check your weight and see how much you gained.

  7. Which part (or parts) of the Learner Profile could arithmetic with decimals help you to develop? • Risk taker because you can take a risk on not eating junk food for three days every week. Always see your weight on a scale so you can see how much you lost or gained weight.
