Philosophy • Give children choices so they feel they have some control over their learning and their environment • Encouraging creativity and finding what excites your child • Educate each child in the way s/he learns best • Differentiate in class • Each child can be a leader • Believe in teamwork: Parent, Teacher, Child • Educating the “Whole Child”-social and emotional needs, nurturing student- teacher relationship, and high expectations for academics • Each child is unique and thus will have their own unique learning experience
Kindergarten • Kindergarten is a year of immense growth and remarkable changes. • It will take our patience, praise, encouragement, and care to help your child feel confident enough to take risks in learning.
What to Bring to School Each Day • A labeled backpack • A labeled lunchbox with healthy snacks (even if your child is buying lunch) • An extra set of clothes in your child’s backpack. It stays in their backpack everyday (in case of an accident). • Reusable water bottle

Physical Education • Tuesdays-PE @ Wheel • P.E. Equipment needed! • If you have any spare equipment, we’d love it! • Please wear or bring running shoes for the week. • Please help your child learn how to tie their shoes. Tuesdays-Take shoes on/off

I am always here to brainstorm and help to solve your student related concern or question.
Drop Off/Pick Up • Morning Drop Off: • Students can be dropped off at 7:45 (please no earlier). A teacher will be on duty to watch children from 7:45-8:00. • School starts right at 8:00 am. Students should line up on the chalk line right at 8:00. Please get children here on time. It’s very difficult when students arrive late. • End of the day: You may park in a designated parking spot (not along the curb) or on the street and walk to pick up your child. Children will be dismissed starting at 2:15 pm. I will give a high-five to each student as I see the adult that is designated to pick up that child. If the pick-up person has changed, please let me know.

Class Supply ListDonations are greatly appreciated! • Each student: (Refer to Supply List) • Glue sticks • One pack of multi-colored markers • Kleenex tissues or wipes (to clean) • Heavy duty two pocket folder • Items will be shared with the class Wish List • Paper towels and Cleaning Wipes • Other items on apples
