Characteristics of Intercultural Conflict • Intercultural Conflict signify conflict between two or more cultural groups. • Conflicts occur between two different countries OR • Differences within one country, but different cities.
Intercultural Conflict • Intercultural Conflict can erupt from many reasons. Such as: • Religion- Different beliefs or religious sayings can cause cultural conflicts. • Economics- Competition in businesses between two cultures or more. Words are exchanged can be in a rude manner or suggestions from another group of culture. • Political- One country may not agree with another country’s law, rules, and or regulations. OR can occur within the same country, but different cities. Again these different cultures will speak up, but it will result in conflict since words are being exchanged and not everyone agrees to what the other person is stating.
Intercultural Conflict Cont. • These conflicts does not result in a positive outcome. • When these type of cultural conflict occurs. It turns into violence. The people are the ones that suffers physically and emotionally. • These group of people handles their conflict by fighting or using offensive language verses coming together to discuss the issue rationally. • It’s difficult when two cultures do not understand one another’s language. It causes a big riot due to miscommunication.
Example Of Intercultural Conflicts • Thailand and Cambodia’s Conflict over the Angkorwat Temple. • Conflict between Thailand and Cambodia over Religious artifacts. • Neither Countries knows one another’s language, causing them to turn to war over religious artifacts. They are unable to reason with each other through words. Fighting seems to be the right solution for both countries.

What We Can Learn From These Conflicts. • Both websites states the conflict that each country has with one another. • It’s basically not being able to communicate with each other. • Which results in war and violence. • WHAT CAN WE LEARN? • Try to settle the dispute by having rational meetings • Stay strong and do what’s right.
