First Quarter Expectations • Please refer to handout • If your child is able to do these skills at the end of the first quarter, they will receive a 3 in that area. Each quarter we will send home a new list of expectations that become more challenging as the year goes on. • Feel free to take the list home and let me know if you have any questions.

Student Behavior Expectations • Clip Chart- sent home in agendas everyday • High Fives • Cafeteria Rewards • Bus Behavior/ Bus room rules • Bucket Filling • Cool Muhl
Reading Program • McGraw-Hill • Focuses on reading fluency, reading fiction and non fiction, comprehension, key details, main idea, decoding, and summarizing • Writing components include grammar, handwriting, sentence structure, spelling, and the stages of the writing process
Math Program • Envisions • Student friendly math concepts that align with common core • Homework daily unless a testing day • Pearson math
Science Pilot • Piloting 2 programs this year • 1st 12 weeks - Physical Science (FOSS) • 2nd 12 weeks - Earth & Space Science (BBS or STC) • Last 12 weeks - Life Science • Both programs are hands on and highly inquiry based.
Z-Pass • Must stay attached to the book bag the child uses every day for school. If you switch book bags, please attach the Z-Pass to the new bag. • If the Z-Pass is lost, please contact the school right away so we can get you a new one. They are important for the safety of your child. • Basics: • Way to keep students safe and know where they are • Students swipe when they get on the bus at the stop and at school
