Altarpiece for St. Marco’s in Florence This altarpiece was different from those before it. It showed the enthroned Madonna and child surrounded by saints. However it was not in a heavenly setting, instead it seemed normal. It was as if the group had naturally formed and was about to witness and converse with Mary and Jesus. This style is known as Sacred Conversations and became pretty popular
