We will take about: • Kidney • Ureter • Urinary Bladder • Urethra
Kidney Renal vein, renal artery and ureter are found in the sinus in anterior to posterior order
Internal structure of the Kidney Each kidney consists of: • Outer cortex convex • Inner medulla concave formed of renal pyramids with apex forming renal papilla it’s open to the • Minor calyces • Major calyces • Renal pelvis fills most of the sinus • Cortex extends into medulla as renal columns
Anterior relation Right kidney: • Suprarenal gland • Liver • Duodenum • Right colic flexure • Ileum Left kidney: • Suprarenal gland • Stomach • Spleen • Splenic artery • Pancreas • Jejunum • Left colic flexure
Anterior relation Left Kidney Right Kidney
Posterior Relation of the Kidney • Diaphragm separates the kidney from the pleural cavity and 11th and 12th ribs • Psoas major medially • Quadratuslumborum in the middle • transversusabdominis laterally • NOTE The right and lift kidney are similar except the right kidney does not have 11th rib
Artery Vein Ureter
Ureter It shows three constriction along its course: Between ureter and pelvis At crossing the external iliac artery At entrance to urinary bladder
Blood Supply of the ureter • Uretricbranches of common iliac • Uretric branches of internal iliac • gonadalarteries
Parts and Surfaces Body Apex Fundus • Parts: It is divided into apex, body fundus and neck • Surfaces: It has superior, posterior and two inferiolateral Neck
Relation Posterior relation: • Vas deferens • Seminal vesicle • Rectum • Rectovesical fascia • Peritoneum Superior relation: • Peritoneum • Coils of ileum • Sigmoid colon Lateral relation: • Obturatorinternus muscle • Levatorani muscle
Relation Anterior relation • Symphysis pubis • Retropubic fat Inferior relation: • Prostate gland
Blood Supply of the Urinary Bladder Urinary bladder • Superior vesical artery • Inferior vesical artery
Parts and Surfaces • Parts: It is divided into apex, body, fundus and neck • Surfaces: It has superior, posterior and two inferiolateral
Relation Posterior relation: • Uterus • Vagina Superior relation: • Peritoneum • Uterus Lateral relation • Obturatorinternus muscle • Levatorani muscle
Relation Anterior relation • Symphysis pubis • Retropubic fat
Blood Supply of the Urinary Bladder Urinary bladder • Superior vesical artery • Vaginal artery
Parts • Parts of urethra: 1. Prostatic part 2. Membranous part 3. Penile part
Theopenings Urethra Anterior Rectum Posterior Vagina Intermediate
NOTE In the Ureter you should be identify then write the three construction “if it come in the exam” Slid 32 Not include in the exam نسأل الله التوفيق للجميع دعواتكم
