Huntington’s Disease • Heredity: Dominant- children have 50% of getting disease. • Lifespan: 20 yrs after diagnosis • Neurodegenerative disease • Affects muscle coordination • Leads to psychiatric problems
Sickle Cell Anemia • Red blood cell’s have abnormal shape • RBC’s carry oxygen – results in decreased Oxygen transport • Blood blockage throughout body
Malaria • Transmitted by mosquitoes • Blood disease caused by parasites • Parasites ingest hemoglobin in blood (which transports oxygen)
