  1. Present arguments for and against considering intelligence as one general mental ability. What is the difference between street smart and book smart? Which is more important Does having one correlate to having the other?

  2. Intelligence is.. • ability to learn from experience, solve problems, and use knowledge to adapt to new situations

  3. Factor Analysis Approach (Charles Spearman) General Intelligence (g factor)=scoring high on one end of intelligence will often lead to high scores on others -Does the video clip refute or agree with Spearman?

  4. Howard Garner • Opposed Spearman’s view. • We have multiple intelligences-each one independent of others • include linguistic, logical-mathematical, musical, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, intrapersonal, interpersonal, • Maybe better in some than others.

  5. ADORA Questions • 1) List 5 examples of how Adora shows intelligence. • 2) Would you want your child to be as intelligent as Adora? Explain. • 3) Does Adora lack intelligence? Explain. • 4) What are some problems that Adora may encounter in the future? • 5) Does Adora exemplify more of Spearmen or Garner’s view of intelligence?
