Silver State Chapter Purpose of our Silver State Chapter: • To promote and advance the improvement of records and information management and related fields through study, education, and research • To advance professional knowledge and techniques by sharing and exchanging experiences and information related to the field • To develop and advance standards of professional competence in the field of records and information management • To obtain information about new software and hardware technologies available to information management and related fields
Silver State Year in Review • 55 Chapter Members • Chapter includes members from Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Mesquite, and Arizona • Membership decreased by 10% due to members retiring and/or moving • New Members representing Food, Utilities, Compliance, Convention and Visitors Authority and Gaming industries
Silver State Year in Review • 2008 ARMA International Conference Planning Committee • Silver State Chapter’s 30th Birthday Party • Chapter hosted 2007 Leadership Conference • Financial Success – Chapter funds increased 80% • New Silver State Chapter logo • Great networking opportunities and building friendships within the Chapter
Meeting Variety • Meetings held every other month resulting in increased attendance • Average attendance 33 members = 60% Chapter attendance rate • ARMA 2007-2008 Kickoff Meeting included a visit from the Mayor of Las Vegas, Oscar Goodman with 66 attendees
