Table of contents • Recognition of the need/Definition of the problem • Exploring the Camera • Gathering information • Weighing our options • Specifications • Comparing options • Final solution
Recognition of the need • To re-create the Kodak “Fun-Saver” disposable camera to boost the sales market • Save the Kodak company • Redesign the camera to be more convenient and fun to use
Definition of the Problem • Target audience: older people (above the age of 40) who frequently use disposable cameras • Survey older people to generate ideas from our target audience “Should also be durable, so you don't have to worry about damaging the film if it's getting tossed around a bit.” “Clear labeling regarding the number of prints, the flash capability, how to use, etc.” “When Ithink of disposable… I just think of convenience, and buying it last minute…”
Specifications • Camera flash should reach a maximum distance of fourteen feet • The size of the camera should remain the same • The labeling on the outside of the camera should be clearer and the font should be larger • The outer shell material should be more shock absorbent to prevent damage • Carrying case and color options are possible options • Price should stay in the range of $8-$11
Design Selection/Final solution • We decided to modify the Fun Saver design by adding the following features: • Color options- solid colors only • Protective shock absorbent material on outer edges • Bigger directions/clear labeling
