  4. Specifications • A product specification has a metric and a value • An energy audit falls outside of traditional product specifications terms • 2 approaches – traditional and ‘expectations’

  7. ‘Expectation’ - Specifications • Defined specifications in terms of an energy audit • Project specificationsare the agreed upon expectations of the total energy assessment process and outcome – ‘What is included and captured’ • FSNM specifications are expectations regarding the explicit actions, information, analyses and results that the entire energy assessment project will contain • Definition of the content in the final assessment report

Specifics of Utility & Facility Analysis • Obtain site schematics, system breakdown and additional information required to conduct the audit • Collect general site info: • Size, age, condition and general use • Description and envelope of site • Collect and summarize: • Utility costs & consumption data for past 2 years • Energy & water usage for past 2 years • Impact of structural or energy system changes • Previous energy-related improvements • Generate occupancy patterns and schedules • Establish ‘base year’ average energy consumption • Analyze utility trends and/or anomalies • Charts and graphs describing current energy use patterns
