Homework Policy • 1stLate Assignment: • No penalty will be given for the 1st late assignment of the quarter. • 2nd +Late Assignments: • The second late assignment, and all thereafter, will be accepted the next time the class meets, for 50%. Additionally, the student will earn an ELW. If the assignment is NOT turned in by the next time the class meets, it will result in a 0% for the assignment.
W.I.N. • “What I Need” • What is W.I.N.? • A forty minute period designed to address the different strengths and weaknesses of all students • Determined by benchmark testing or teacher recommendation • Differentiated Learning in the same classroom primarily through centers • Center Topics may be centered on activities such as needed interventions, bonus enrichment projects, practicing organizational strategies, giving reading strategy instruction, or technology integration. • No Homework in W.I.N. • This period will not be used as a Study Hall.

ISAT • AYP Target • 92.5% of students need to meet or exceed standards • Benchmark testing will be held during the Fall, Winter, and Spring. • Students will be setting individual goals within the classrooms and will receive rewards for meeting their goals on the benchmark tests.
ISAT • Treat Wednesday! • Treats will be sold at the time of the benchmark testing during the Jr. High Lunches. • A Spirit week will be held prior to ISAT • An end of the year celebration will be held to celebrate student successes throughout the school year

8th Grade Field Trip • Trip is held in May • To raise funds for the 8th grade trip, 8th grade students will be participating in the monthly Market Day Food Program. This will be the only way students will be able to buy down the cost of the trip. Please make sure your 8th grader signs up for times. More information regarding the trip will be contained within the 8th grade packet, which all students will receive.
7th Grade Field Trip • Trip taken in the spring. This date has not yet been set. • Old and New Capitol • Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum • Illinois State Museum • Estimated cost - $100.00 per student • Fundraiser – Candlelight Bowl • Will need parent volunteers for the success of this fundraiser.
6th Grade OutdoorEducation • Trip will be held in May • Estimated $20 per student • One fundraiser will be held to offset the cost of the trip • More information will follow.
Junior High Team Parents • In order for our Tiger Parents to be involved in the daily and special classroom activities, we will be setting up a Junior High Team Parent Volunteer List. • The sign up sheets will be sent home with students. • Help out in several different ways: • Come in during school hours to help prepare special lesson materials (copies, putting lab materials together, making center posters, etc.) • Have small task sent home to complete (cutting out resources, organizing lesson materials in group bags, etc.) • Be the organizer and contact person for setting up special lunches quarterly.
