FSCC Report August 22, 2012 Two packets: SPS 1112-28 Changes to Program Language in Health Professions SPS 1112-29 Changes to Program Language in Engineering Technology
SPS 1112-28: Health Professions -eliminate mentions of Level I and Level II -eliminate references to previous GS categories -separate Social Sciences into SBS I and SBS II -include Global Diversity requirement
SPS 1112-29: Engineering Technology -eliminate mentions of Level I and Level II -eliminate references to previous GS categories -include Global Diversity requirement -eliminate specified General Studies courses that are no longer in GS program -separate Social Sciences into SBS I and SBS II
Concerns • Curriculum changes are made to the following year’s catalog. • Students in affected HEP and ET programs cannot fulfill both program and general studies requirements because they are inconsistent. • CAPP reports cannot be generated for students in these programs because CAPP is programmed based on catalog language. • Printed catalogs have not been made available pending our decision.
Motion: • Make changes proposed in Packets SPS 1112-28 and SPS 1112-29 to the 2012-2013 catalog effective immediately.
2012-13 Curriculum Deadlines • Substantive Changes • Chair to Dean: Oct. 4 • Dean to FSCC: Dec. 14 • FS to ASA: March 8 • Non-substantive Changes • SP13 Dean to ASA: Oct. 10 • SU/FA13 Dean to ASA: March 6
