  1. 7 TeV data First look with data driven method Process Selection - ak5 calo jets - HLT bits: HLT_Jet15U - JEC: L2+L3 “spring10” - |PVz| < 15 cm && Pvndof >= 4 - |eta1| < 1.3 && |eta2| < 1.3 - 2 leading jets passing the loose jet id - Jet Pt > 20 GeV/c 1 • The most of the events are the dijet events. Thus, Kalanand want to do data-driven method for only the first two leading jets first. • All the plots in these slide are for the 2 leading jets with this cuts . • Also he told me about the topology different between same event and mix event i.e. same event is most of dijet are back to back in phi but mix event is not (more detail will be explained in this slide). Dataset: /JetMETTau/Run2010A-PromptReco-v4/RECO (lumi = 53.4. nb^-1) JSON file: Cert_132440-139375_7TeV_StreamExpress_Collisions10_JSON.txt With CMSSW_3_6_1_patch4 and PAT

  16. 7 TeV data First look with data driven method 16 • The topology between same event and mix event are different because the same event dijets are back to back (most of them) but mix event dijets are not back to back. • We need to weight the mix event bin by bin with weight from same event ||deta(phi)|-Pi|. Delta(phi) of the 2 leading jets in the same event

  17. 7 TeV data First look with data driven method 17 ||delta(phi)|-Pi| calculation for same event and mix event Mix event Same event • We can clearly see that same event the dijets are almost back to back but not in mix event. • We need to weight the mix event bin by bin with weight from same event in every ||delta(phi)|-Pi| bin region . • The weight will be calculated from weight= (# of entries from each bin)/(# of entries from first bin).
