OVERALL OBJECTIVE Align the regulatory system of Montenegro with the Internal Market Acquis. To enforce the policies in the sectors of: • Competition (Authority for Protection of Competition), • State Aid (Ministry of Finance), • Consumer protection (Ministry of Economy), • Market Surveillance (Market Inspectorate).
EXPECTED RESULTS ● Result 1 Strengthened capacity for conducting effective competition and state aid control policy Legislation, Capacity building, Public awareness ● Result 2 Strengthened capacity for protection of consumers and efficient market surveillance Legislation, Capacity building, Policy making, Public awareness
DURATION AND RESOURCES Duration ● June 2010 to December 2011 Financial resources (EU and GTZ) ● 837.384 euros Experts Team leader: 200 days Deputy team leader: 270 days Short term experts: 330 (Senior), 250 (Junior)
HOW TO ACHIEVE THE AIMS? ●The project team will ensure a participatory approach for the beneficiaries. ● Expertise will not be here to produce reports and academic papers. ● The project will revolve around practice in policy making and legal advice in a constructive manner with the purpose to deliver more EU-relevant and more comprehensive solutions to concrete issues. ● The project will be largely dependent on the cooperation of the governmental institutions as well as their will and openness for reform.
