Passion profile activity • pas•sion (p2sh”….n)n. 1. A powerful emotion, such as love, joy, hatred, or anger. 2.a.Ardent love. 3.a. Boundless enthusiasm • Read the passion profiles and identify which one most accurately describes who you are as an educator. If several fit, choose the one that affects you the most. • Ask your colleagues questions and find the people who chose the same profile you did. • Get into small groups.
Small group work: • Discuss in your groups what it is like to have this passion • Each person identify a student who has been affected by this profile and write in your journal • What have I done with this student? • What’s worked? What hasn’t • What else could I do? • What questions does this raise for me? • Talk as a group about the questions that teachers who share this passion are likely to have about their practice. • Share out whole group on your passions and what comments and questions you have.
Digging deeper • In your Journals take a couple of minutes to write your personal definition of digging deeper as it relates to instruction, learning and assessment.
