Why a National Research Programme? The research in the field of Sciences and Conservation of Cultural Heritage faces many handicaps • The works in this field needs interdisciplinary research which is not always recognised and well evaluated by their research national bodies. • The researchers are scattered through the French territory and they belong to different institutions. • Therefore, their works are sometimes difficult to identify.
