CHARACTERISTICS OF JESUS’ INSTRUCTION • PROFOUND • Sadducees came to question Jesus concerning the resurrection. Mt. 22:23-33; Mk. 12:18-27; Lk. 20:27-40 “I AM the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” “God is not the God of the dead but of the living.”

JESUS KNEW THE SCRIPTURES • He could not have taught if he did not know the Scriptures. Heb. 10:7; Psa. 40:8 • When Satan came tempting Jesus, He replied with a scripture. Mt. 4 • “IT IS WRITTEN…”
JESUS COMMITTED TO OBEDIENCE • Jesus’ life was perfectly consistent with His perfect knowledge. • Jno. 8:46 “Which of you convicteth me of sin?” • Psa 119:1 “Blessed are they that are upright in the way, who walk in the law of Jehovah” • Psa. 119:11 “Thy word have I laid up in my heart, that I might not sin against thee” • Psa. 119:97 “Oh how I love thy law! It is my meditation all the day” • Psa. 119:148 “Mine eyes anticipated the night-watches, that I might meditate on thy word” • Hypocrisy of others. Cf. 1 Tim. 1:7; Rom. 2:17-24
JESUS’ ATTITUDE TOWARD THE SCRIPTURES Jesus knew what the scriptures meant. • He came to do the will of the father. (Jno. 5:30; 6:38; 8:29) • Sermon on the Mount. (Mt. 5-7)
JESUS SPOKE WITH AUTHORITY • Mt. 7:29; Jno. 7:46 • Mt. 5 “But I say unto you.” • Mt. 28:18; Eph. 1:22-23; Col. 1:18; 3:17

Effectiveness of Jesus, the Master Teacher • Jesus created a CRAVING FOR WHAT HE OFFERED.Jno. 4:13-14 • Jesus understood that people have to be TAKEN WHERE THEY ARE and LED TO A HIGHER PLANE.Jno. 4:16-18 • Jesus taught her how to worship. Jno. 4:21-24 • Jesus taught her He was the Messiah. Jno. 4:25-26
CAN I BE A TEACH LIKE JESUS? • Love human beings. Mt. 9:36 • Learn the Scriptures. 2 Tim. 2:15; 2 Pet. 3:18 • Learn people. Cf. Jno. 2:25 There are no revolutionary secrets! The ONLY way to accomplish this is by diligent work.
