Service Learning. My experience with community service. Goodwill. At Goodwill I was assigned to keep up the floor, put prices on new products and lay out the new items. The most fun part about working at Goodwill was when I got to use the pricing gun to put stickers on the new items.

  2. Goodwill • At Goodwill I was assigned to keep up the floor, put prices on new products and lay out the new items. • The most fun part about working at Goodwill was when I got to use the pricing gun to put stickers on the new items.

  4. Odum Library • At the Odum Library at Valdosta State University I made sure that the books were aligned at the front of the shelf where they were easy to read.

  6. Kappa Car Wash • Working at the car wash was so much fun. I met a lot of people and even though it was a lot of work the time went by really fast.

  7. Second Harvest Food Bank • At Second Harvest Food Bank I had to sort out items such as canned goods and beauty products that could be used for redistribution. • I had to watch a video to show what to keep and what to throw away and then I went to a room to start sorting. • It was actually pretty fun because I went with a couple of friends and we stayed until there was nothing left to sort.

  8. Blood Drive for Red Cross • Giving blood was a rough experience for me. My veins are small so it took a long time for me to fill the bag but it wasn’t so bad that I wouldn’t do it again.

  9. What I learned • I have done community service for most of my life with organizations that I have been in but I did not know that I would continue when I got to college. I had a good time because I was in good company and knowing that I am possibly making a difference in someone’s life makes me feel even better about the experience.
