Executive Leaders Definition: Secretary, Chief of Staff, Under Secretaries, Assistant Secretaries, Deputy Under Secretaries. Expectations: (NOTE: Executive engagement will be individually determined based on Executive availability, staff participation, and interests) • Participate in Executive Leader Roundtable • Visit Breakout Sessions hosted by their staff • Visit the Expo Hall • Present Awards at the VA Award Ceremony • Conference schedule to be determined individually based upon availability • Complete a profile in the VetGovPartner (VGP) database • Utilize the Poken device to exchange contact information with small business and corporate owners.
VISN Directors (Senior Leaders) Definition: VHA Network Directors Expectations: • Arrive onsite no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, August 5, 2013 to register. Depart no earlier than 4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2013 • Present a “Network Exchange” session including: how to do business with their VISN, VAMC procurements, and local procurements • Host tables during “Dining with Decision Makers” plenary sessions • Visit the Expo Hall • Conduct a Senior Leader Roundtable to hear feedback from VOSB • Be available for Media interviews, as directed • Engage with Distinguished Guests • Attend NVSBC receptions to engage with VOSB and SDVOSBs in an informal setting • Complete a profile in the VetGovPartner (VGP) database • Utilize the Poken device to exchange contact information with small business and corporate owners
VA Senior Leaders Definition: SES level program or acquisition managers (people who oversee procurement decisions, policy, and programs) Expectations: • Arrive onsite no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, August 5, 2013 to register. Depart no earlier than 4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2013 • Conduct Training/Breakout Sessions, as appropriate • Host a Senior Leader Roundtable to solicit feedback from VOSB and SDVOSB attendees • Host tables during “Dining with Decision Makers” plenary sessions • Attend conference receptions and visit the Expo Hall to engage with small business owners and corporate organizations • Be available for Media interviews, as directed • Engage with Distinguished Guests • Participate in special receptions as required • Conduct follow-up meetings with at least 3 VOSB businesses from the NVSBC • Complete a profile in the VetGovPartner (VGP) database • Utilize the Poken device to exchange contact information with small business and corporate owners
Procurement Decision Makers (PDMs) Definition: Program Managers, Contracting Officials, Acquisition Managers, (people who determine what, how, and when VA procures goods and services Expectations: • Arrive onsite no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2013 to register and receive information and instructions. Depart no earlier than 4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2013 • Present at Business Requirement Sessions • Host tables at the “Dining with Decision Makers” plenary sessions • Host 5 - 7 Networking Roundtables, depending on VOSB and industry • Visit a minimum of 20 booths in the Expo Hall and engage with small businesses and corporate organizations • Attend NVSBC receptions to engage with VOSBs and SDVOSBs in an informal setting • Participate in special receptions as required • Conduct follow-up meetings with at least 3 VOSB businesses from the NVSBC • Complete a profile in the VetGovPartner (VGP) database • Utilize the Poken device to exchange contact information with small business and corporate owners
Small Business Liaisons (SBLs) Definition: VA staff in SB positions or who have small business support or liaison responsibilities Expectations : • Arrive onsite no later than 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2013 to register, and participate in SBL training and conference preparation. Depart no earlier than 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2013 • Provide updates with VOSBs that they have engaged in the past two years and send updates to OSDBU by June 17, 2013 • Send invitations to VOSBs in their network by June 17, 2013 • Moderate Business Requirement Sessions with PDMs from their organization • Moderate Networking Roundtable sessions • Facilitate and coordinate the upload of VetGovPartner (VGP) information by PDMs and Senior Leaders in their organization • Participate in the “Dining with Decision Makers” plenary sessions • Attend NVSBC receptions to engage with VOSB and SDVOSBs in an informal setting • Visit a minimum of 20 booths in the Expo Hall and engage with small businesses and corporate organizations • Support the conference operation center as needed • Monitor the training sessions to include VGP support • Complete a profile in the VGP database • Utilize the Poken device to exchange contact information with small business and corporate owners
