Radical Phase • One of the bloodiest regimes. • Leaders wanted to extend the Revolution. • The French were being destroyed by Prussians. • Parisians believed that the King was a traitor. • Parisians storm the palace and royal family flees(1792). • Citizens attack prisons and kill 1,200 prisoners.
Radicals Take Control • Radicals take control of the Assembly. • Suffrage is extended to all men. • Radicals wants to abolish monarchy. • Jacobins controls the convention of abolishing the monarchy. • King Louis XVI on trial for being a “traitor”. • King Louis XVI and Queen Marie-Antoinette executed(1793).
