Results From Recent Survey • The most frequent themes for the ONE thing parents and alumni would not change: • Sense of community • High academic standards/rigor
Results From Recent Survey • Adjectives most often used to describe SJS: • Caring • Challenging • Supportive • Rigorous • Traditional

Growing City and Changing Demographics • Houston has seen steady population growth since the mid-20th century. Historically, St. John’s has not been positioned to meet the needs of this growing city. • 1950: 596,000 people in Houston and 476 enrolled at SJS • 1980: 1,595,138 people in Houston and 1,004 enrolled at SJS • 2010: 2,100,263 people in Houston and 1247 enrolled at SJS
Tensions • How do we thoughtfully increase the size of the student population while keeping our non-negotiables sacred?
Community Challenges • Perception of “loss” • Managing disruption during construction • Examining the stress on our shared spaces especially Chapel • Coordinating the schedules of three divisions with a larger school population • Reaching a wider audience so we can attract a larger applicant pool from the greater Houston community
