Offline Window Effort to resize the downtime window to date, we have: Setup separate environment Conducted mock runs for the upgrade Worked with BASIS team to tune payroll cluster conversion Engaged with SAP to leverage their expertise in reducing the cycle Conclusion: 5 Business Day Window Plan for offline window is illustrated below (orange is validation window)
Upgrade Process - Summary • Detailed SAP Upgrade schedule (hour/minute) • Validated through mock upgrades • Communicated to all participants • Aggressive Management • Frequent status reporting (scheduled calls) • Open conference bridge for issue reporting and resolution • 24 x 7 work schedule during upgrade • Upgrade Facts • The People First database is approximately 1.6 terabytes • 338 unique assignments/enhancements delivered with upgrade • Approximately 700 transports (programming changes)
Validation Summary • System validation • Spot check to ensure business functionality is operational • DMS and Technical teams to collaborate • Contingency for unplanned events • Payroll processing • Contingency plan (return to existing system) • Post “go-live” support
