Two CQMs in MU2 require dental vocabulary beyond SNODENT • Children who have dental decay or cavities (Pediatric) • Primary Caries Prevention Intervention Offered by Primary Care Providers including Dentists • NCVHS letter of 09/12 cited testimony with concerns about stakeholder representation and maintenance processes of Current Dental Terminology (CDT), a HIPAA mandated code set. NCVHS subsequently determined the issue is managedappropriately and it fully supports adoption of CDT for CEHRT and MU. • HITSC Vocabulary Task Force considered these issues in meetings with representatives of the American Dental Association, NIST, and NCVHS. The WG recommends: Current Dental Terminology (CDT) immediately should be adopted as a standard vocabulary for certified EHR technology to support Meaningful Use stage 2.
