  3. Reminders • Make sure that students are reading stories at appropriate language levels for them • Present the roles clearly so that students know what is expected of them • Assign a manageable quantity of text for Role Sheet preparation

  5. Formation of the Reading Circle • No. of students in each group (4-6) • Roles: (merging the ‘I can’ statement) • I can be the leader • I can be the Summarizer • I can be the Word Master • I can be the Passage Person (*Connector , *Culture collector)

  6. Roles • Leader –lead the discussion • Summarizer –retell the story • Word Master –help with vocabularies • Passage Person –introduce the characters

  7. Lesson One • Introduce ‘Reading Circle’ • Set up groups • Introduce roles

  8. Lesson Two • Introduce readers • Fix roles • Make role badges (I can) • Assign reading materials
