Skills Required for a Social Care Manager: • Communication – this is very important in the field of Health Care as it is vitally important that all members of the team communicate to ensure the needs of the service user is met. • Leadership – it is important that a person such as the Social Care Manager takes charge to ensure all tasks are covered to ensure that everything runs smoothly and the correct care is given. • Advanced organisational skills – this is necessary to ensure that the department is run correctly and in correct order, also so that the care workers can divide their time correctly. • The Social Care Manager also must manage the staff to ensure they are meeting health care standards. • They are also involved in the writing of the policies. Also they must make sure that the legislations meets the requirements that the service provides. • She/he must promote equality. • And most of all the Social Care Manager needs an understanding of the clients needs.
Qualifications Required to Qualify as a Social Care Manager: Social Health Care Mangers must hold a number of qualifications such as: • A Management Degree • GCSE in Numeracy and Literacy • NVQ Level 4 • Leaving Cert Results/ GCSE • UCAS Points 140- 200 • BSC in Social Care
