  3. What are my Strengths! • List all of your strengths that you have listed on your worksheet. For example…. • I read at home each night before I go to bed. • I love math. • I can follow step by step directions. • I am friendly. • I am quiet in class.

  4. Why do I receive Special Education services? • I have a learning disability in the areas of reading comprehension, written expression, and math calculation. Look at your IEP and identify what you qualify for before you create this slide.

  5. What are my areas of need? • List the things you have difficulty with. • For example… • I have difficulty staying on task. • I cannot read above a third grade level. • I have difficulty writing down important notes during lectures. • I have difficulty organizing my thoughts to create a paragraph.

  6. What are my accommodations? • Type out your accommodations that help you succeed in class. • For example… • I need to use a calculator during math. • I need extra time on tests. • I need to have tests read to me. • I need you to clarify the directions.

  7. How teachers help me in class? • Brainstorm ideas that teachers can do for you to help you in class. • For example…. • Please clarify directions when I ask you. • Provide me a copy of your notes during lectures. • Allow me to sit near the front of the room with little distraction.

  8. What are my Transition goals? • This is your opportunity to tell the IEP team what YOU want to do after high school and maybe even during high school. • For example… • I would like to attend EVIT to receive auto mechanic training. • I would like to work on cars or in the automotive industry.

  11. Ideas to spice up your presentation! • Add a background design. • Add pictures from Clip Art. • Add pictures from Websites. • Add pictures from a digital camera of yourself. • Add slide transitions such as having a sentence fly in or a picture fade out.
