  3. cardiomyopathy Cardio- Myo- -pathy Heart muscle disease • Enlargement on right suggests blockage in lungs • Blockage might be from: • cancer • Fluid in lungs • Compression of lung • Other lung disorders

  4. endocarditis • Caused by common bacteria • May be from “cat scratch fever” • Infection  fever  fever subsides • Bacteria goes into “hiding” • Targets heart valves

  5. Heart Murmur • One or more valve does not close completely • Allows blood to backflow • Severity depends on how much blood backflows • May be due to birth defect • May be due to ongoing damage to valve • (infection of valve?)
