4. Calibrating • Cords – with or without document camera • Two ways to calibrate • Hover with pen • Inspire icon

Checking Bulbs and Lights on Your Projector • How to know your bulb is going out • It will show a warning • The display will get lighter • PUT IN WORK ORDER IMMEDIATELY • Flashing lights on projector • Green is always good • Red is a warning • Means it’s overheated • Safety setting won’t let it on • You can clean out with compressed air

Toolbar Functions • Main Menu – Basic functions, also on top row • Switch Profile – 5 profile options that can be edited • Edit Profile – Make profile fit your desires • Desktop Annotate – Discuss later • Desktop Tools – Discuss later • Previous/Next Page – Move back and forth • Express Poll – Where the Activotes work • Colors – All options, right-click to change • Size of Pen – 2 ways to change

7. Toolbar Functions • Arrow – Point and click to manipulate • Tools – Options you have, also up top • Pen – Writing, any color • Highlighter – Any color, gets darker on attempts • Eraser – Change sizes also • Fill – Change color of the whole screen • Shape – Insert shapes at any color and size • Connector – Insert different types of lines

Toolbar Functions • Insert Media – Able to add videos or pictures you’ve saved • Text – Insert text through keyboard • Clear – Pick what to erase, certain items • Reset Page – Clear the whole page • Undo/Redo – Fixes last thing done • Toolbox Options – Where does it go • Roll Up – Makes toolbox smaller • Pin/Hide – Keeps or hides toolbox until needed

9. Screen Size • Full Screen – Hides everything • Zoom options – Your choice of what you want

Desktop Tools • Express Poll – Activotes from somewhere outside Inspire • Recorder – Several options to video tape • More Tools – Dice, calculator, sound recorder, clock, tickertape • Camera – Several options to take a picture • Keyboard – Screen keyboard • Promethean Planet – Straight to their website • Return to Flipcharts – Go back

11. Edit Profiles • 5 Profile options • Go through and change to wait you want or need • Each one could be different and more can be made • Experiment, if you mess up reset to default

12. Dual Users • Have two students writing on the board at one time • Top row – Tools – Dual Users • May say you need to update Inspire if it doesn’t work first time • Update at help tab • Works pretty good, second pen will lag sometimes

13. Desktop Annotate • Option is on toolbar, click it to go back and forth • Will allow you to use anything on your computer with the Inspire toolbar • Ability to write, draw, highlight, etc… on any websites, word documents, and computer programs

14. Saving Flipcharts • Saves just like any word or pages document • Allows you to reuse a flipchart the next day or year and can be used to reteach a lesson.

15. Sharing Flipcharts • Why reinvent the wheel • Someone in your building or grade level can share something they’ve done. • These flipcharts can be added to Pivot or Dropbox and we can try to email them also. • I can help with this at collaboration meetings.

16. Promethean Planet • Easy way to get there? • Need to create account if you haven’t already • Allows you to troubleshoot issues you have • Borrow or add flipcharts • You can download flipcharts by grade level or subject matter for FREE!

17. Activotes/Activexpressions • Good idea but has some issues (batteries) • Wireless ring in/answer system • Some flipcharts at Promethean Planet have them built in • Will help set them on individual request
