Improvement Plan Vs. Corrective Action Plan Improvement Plan Corrective Action Plan • Integrated into the Local Consolidated Plan (LCP) • Part of Title IIA page • Listing of teachers who are not HQT • Plans to help them become HQT • Amount that will be used to help them become HQT • Text boxes to discuss HQT needs • Due May 15th • Orientation and readiness – who, what, when • Gather and organize data • Analyze data • Prioritize and set SMART goals • Develop and implement the results-based Improvement Plan
On Improvement – LCP • Make sure the radial button is enabled on the Allocations page. • Check the box that states 10% of IIA funds must be set aside for professional development to ensure teachers are highly qualified. • Improvement plan boxes will not be active unless “On Improvement” radial button is chosen on Allocations page.
On Improvement - LCP • If district is now 100% HQ, but was not in 2007-08, documentation must be on file at KSDE. This is based off of the SAR report. • Needs assessment section is to be completed for districts on Corrective Action. * The amount allocated in the Professional Development allowable activities needs to include amounts to help teachers to become highly qualified • i.e. Praxis, substitutes, release time, tuition, etc…
Test prep for Praxis and Para exams • Tuition reimbursement for required classes for English-language learner teachers working under a waiver • Tuition reimbursement for classes to become HQ • Sub pay while teachers are in class Holding 10% for Professional Development
