  3. What is HART • Grassroots organization made up of non-traditional stakeholders from across the Southwest Power Pool • Landowners/Agriculture Producers • Mayors/County Commissioners • Economic Development Professionals/Chambers • Clean Energy Advocates/Educators

  4. HART Vision & Goals • Vision: • Future energy development in our states is at risk without new transmission. The path forward demands regional collaboration to ensure global competitiveness and economic prosperity in the Southwest Power Pool region • Goals: • Increase awareness about the benefits of transmission and wind energy among peers and the public

  5. Stakeholder Survey • 95% want more wind energy • 95% want more energy efficiency • Water quality/quantity most important factor to consider when choosing energy resource

  8. Southwest Power Pool stakeholder engagement • Explore website - www.spp.org • Sign up for SPP mailing lists • Attend committee meetings via teleconference • Attend Regional State Committee and Board of Director meetings

Get Involved - HART • Two year commitment • Monthly conference calls • Attend one HART meeting 2012 • Plan and support educational webinars • Help to develop materials for peers • Make HART presentations to peers • Attend SPP meetings as schedule allows • Public Utility Commission outreach • Support transmission and wind development
