During their time on the project they have fitted really well into the project team and have been a delight to work with. I was recently on the interview panel for the current intake onto the Princes Foundation Project. Over 500 applicants applied throughout the UK and Worldwide. Alex Watkins a third year Shared Apprentice had an outstanding application and was offered a place (only 10 places were available) on the Foundation Project for the coming year. Some of the projects which he will be working to develop his Heritage Skills will be at Royal Household Buildings such as Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.” • Owain Jones, Managing Director of TRJLtd – “We are very pleased as a company with the work ethic and the practical ability of the Shared Apprentices that we have had working we have had working with us over the past two years. We have always used the traditional route for apprenticeship over the years but are now reviewing our apprenticeship strategy because of the Shared Apprenticeship Scheme”.

  15. QUOTES • Ken Aston, Training Manager of Anglian WindowsLtd – “When we were first approached by CCTAL and Carmarthenshire County Council regarding the Shared Apprenticeship Scheme I was slightly apprehensive, we had 4 Shared Apprentices over the summer period and were delighted with their quality and standard of work and general attitude. We had a review with CCTAL in October and we expressed our positive thoughts on the Shared Apprentices working with us and would offer them employment tomorrow”. • Robert Williams, Managing Director, WRW Construction Ltd • “The Shared Apprenticeship scheme has allowed the apprentices to work for a variety of construction companies over the 3 year period where they have gained additional experiences working on various projects with our local contractors. The scheme has been a real team effort by all involved. It has been a great personal pleasure to see the apprentices improving over the years and succeeding in their chosen occupation.
