  2. What is a paragraph? A group of related sentences about a single topic.

  3. What’s wrong with the paragraph? • English borrows lots of words from other languages. For example, many English speakers say the Spanish word ‘adios’ to mean good-bye. English also adopted French words beef and pork to talk about cow and pig meat. Korean also borrows words from English like bus and orange juice. ▶The paragraph’s topic is English. But this sentence’s topic is Korean. Paragraph should talk about a single topic, so this sentence is wrong.

  4. What is the main parts in paragraph? 1. Topic sentence - Names the topic. - States the controlling idea. ( → what the paragraph will say about the topic.) 2. Supporting sentences - prove the controlling idea. 3. Concluding sentence.

  5. Topic : Sejong University Good sentences Bad sentences S.U is located near The Children’s grand park.( → two topics X) S.U has beautiful ducks. S.U is where I study about information and engineering.(→two topics X) • S.U hasmany programs for studying abroad. • S.U was established in 1940. • S.U has a smaller campus than other universities.
