  1. Comm Arts-Day 1 (computers are needed) • Bell Ringer: Review your notes from last week. Write down an original figurative language sentence, but also use one of the five senses to help with the reader’s imagery. (2 mins)

  2. Lesson Goal and Essential Question • Lesson Goal: People will continue to explore their relationship with nature. • Essential Question: How does nature impact me personally?

  3. Discussion Starter (2 mins) • Think about what we read and discussed last week. • Discussion question: Which do you think is more important to expressing the poet’s thoughts: line breaks, stanzas, or free-verse (form)? Why?

  7. Your Turn! • Now you will be writing your own If I Were in Charge of the Environment poem. Please log on to edmodo and open the “If I were in charge” assignment and finish the poem with how you would run the environment.

  8. Exit Ticket • For our exit ticket today you need to display your poem on your computer and we will do a gallery walk like we did last time. Please use the post it notes to comment and use the same standards we did last time with your comments. • If you need extra time on your poem you may finish tonight. However, everyone’s poems should be submitted by tomorrow.
