SFHS Marketing Education Program is the largest DECA chapter in the world, offering a wide range of marketing classes and career pathways. Students gain real-world experience through business projects, internships, and competitions, preparing them for college and future careers in marketing, management, and entrepreneurship.

SFHS Marketing Education Program • Established in 1997 with 27 Marketing students and 11 DECA Members • Currently havemore than500 Marketing students and was once again named as the World’s Largest DECA chapter in May 2013 with 1,039 members • Program is Industry Certified by the American Marketing Association

  8. SFHS DECA students assisted GMMG Ad Agency of Washington, DC in developing a state-wide advertising campaign for the Southern Governor’s Association

  9. SFHS DECA students, Jordan Chatelain and Bailey York, recorded two 30 second radio spots to promote CollegeBoard.com. The commercials aired on 94.9fm.

  10. Marketing students design ads for The Avenue and are awarded scholarships

  11. Marketing students are mentored by representatives from Infinitee Advertising Agency in Atlanta

  12. Students designed a social media marketing campaign for The Avenue & Cousins Properties The campaign was used at all Avenue locations in Georgia and Tennessee

  13. EntrepreneurshipStudents manage DECA’s school store, The Bird Cage

  14. Sports and Entertainment Marketing Advertising Project for Atlanta Motor Speedway DECA Night With the Atlanta Hawks

  15. Sports Marketing students conducted marketing research and designed a sports show which aired on ESPN in October 2010

  16. Fashion Marketing Former SFHS Fashion Student Designs for Barbie Produce the Prom Fashion Show

Marketing WBL • Juniors and Seniors explore career interests in the field of marketing. • Student job titlesrange from customer service representatives, sales associates, and assistant managers, to marketing assistants and more. • Marketing Assistant, K.C. Love, designed advertisements for new products offered by River’s Edge Pharmaceuticals in Suwanee. His employer awarded him a $20,000 scholarship.

  18. Marketing WBLMarketing student, Karlee Smith, completed her WBL experience at Vanity Fair. She studied fashion marketing in college and currently markets the PINKline at the Victoria’s Secret corporate headquarters in Ohio

Scholarships • In the past 5 years, marketing students have received a total of 35 scholarships (half of a million dollars) solely based upon projects that they completed in their Marketing classes and in DECA • The Avenue Forsyth business scholarships • E-Step Entrepreneurial Business Plan scholarships • DECA Scholarships • Marketing Internship Scholarships-$20,000 • The Art Institute Scholarships-$80,000 • SCORE Business Plan Scholarships
