General Information • Subjects do not need to be chosen in advance • Choose 4 of the 13 subjects – no 1st Year limits • Entrance assessment for music • New beginners programmes in French and German • Full Degree in Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland • Our BA is recognised by Teaching Council • Points in the region of 370 • Direct entry for mature students, students with disabilities and from some FETAC courses
Course Structure • Yr 1 4 subjects + Foundation Studies • Yr 2 2 subjects + one elective • Yr 3 Off campus / Study abroad • Yr 4 2 subjects + Undergraduate Dissertation
Foundation Studies • All 1st Year BA students take Foundation Studies • This course aims to give students an essential grounding in Academic Writing and IT skills
Second Year – subject groupings • Group 1: German Studies and Theology & Religious Studies • Group 2: French Studies and History • Group 3: Mathematics and English • Group 4: Gaeilge and Philosophy • Group 5: Psychology and Music • Group 6: Media & Communication Studies and Geography
Electives • Current electives: • TEFL (qualifies students to teach English as a Foreign Language) • IT • Irish Studies • Gender Studies
