Snapshots type 1 • Make a movie behind your eyelids. Find a spot in your story where you can enhance what we see, hear, taste, touch, or smell. • Take a moment and concentrate.
Snapshots type2 • Choose a spot in your story and FREEZE it! • Now, create a picture of that scene. Pick a spot and zoom in. • Now zoom in a little bit closer.
Thoughtshots • Thoughtshots are to let us into the mind of the narrator. Let us feel like we are their best friend. • There are three types!
Flashback • Go back in time to a memory for your narrator and/or protagonist. • Start with…“I remembered when...”
Flashforward • Imagine into the future what your character could see happen. What are their hopes and/or dreams? • Start with • “I could imagine ...” • “I could see myself...”
Brain Argument • Allow your narrator to go back and forth about a decision. • Use these starters: • “...but then again...” • “On one hand... On the the other hand...”
