What Is A Podcast? • Originally, an audio file delivered to user using an RSS feed • Audio file that can be downloaded and stored on iPod-like device or computer • Portable • Relatively small files • Audio only
What Is A Podcast? • Video with sound file that can be downloaded and stored on MP3 player or computer • Portable • Visuals can be useful • Fewer users video-capable players • Larger files • Most players currently available feature small screens
What Works As A Podcast? • Tutorials • Self-guided tours • An accompaniment to a special exhibit
What You Need • Computer with sound card and/or video card • Digital still or video camera • Editing software • Sufficient storage capacity for large video files • Quiet space for recording audio • Good quality microphone
