Vision and Aims On their learning journey within our school our children will grow into confident, happy, independent individuals who can communicate effectively, achieve well and respect the diverse communities that make up our world. In an ever changing world we believe our children should develop a strong set of values that underpin their learning and enable them to become lifelong learners. Each child will learn a range of skills and knowledge that will enable them to recognize the contribution and responsibility they have to developing a sustainable world. The Early Years Foundaton Stage- EYFS Four main principles : Unique Child Every child is a unique child who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. Positive Relationships Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships. Enabling Environments Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and carers. Learning and Development Children develop and learn in different ways. The framework covers the education and care of all children in early years provision, including children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Specific Areas Specific areas include essential skills and knowledge for children to participate successfully in society. • Literacy -Phonics and mark making • Mathematics – Numicon, games, shapes, colours, practical experiences • Understanding the World – investigations, exploring ideas, and asking questions • Expressive Arts and Design –imagination skills, drama, role play and small world
