From our good friend, the TV • Unfortunately, we see far too much violence on television. From CSI (Miami, NY, Las Vegas, Burtts Corner???) to the WWE, violence consistently displayed every time we turn the channel. • Is violence glorified on TV? • How does this affect you? • How do you think it may affect a 5 year old?
MVU- the media violence unit • Your task is to investigate violence in the media. • Using the links provided on the next slide, you will investigate various North American newspapers and find 3-5 articles involving violence. • You must record: • the form of violence involved • The relationship of the people involved • At least two factors which may have contributed to the violence, and • A factor which could have prevented the violence.
