Workgroup feedback on 3-13-13 • Process communication from SCUSD • Lottery run by SCUSD (neutral) • Parent info available at both sites • Principals and parents need to clearly understand the process • Public vs. non-public lottery • Manual vs. Computer • Spring timeline • Notification to all parents, including waitlist through multiple methods (phone, letter, email) • Translators and translations needed Youth Engagement Services
OST Lottery System Expectation- Four week process • Window of one week to submit lottery slip • Parents submit lottery slips to PMs (all sites) • PM’s enter slip info into database • One week to enter in all submissions • District runs computer generated lottery • Computer generates random order • Data is coded for siblings and grades • All Parents notified of the results *
Before School • Before School programs will not use lottery system • Enrollment will occur in Fall (August ok) • All families attending Before School sites are eligible • No Grandfathering for Fall 2013-2014

ELIGIBILITY • All families attending the designated receiving schools will be eligible to participate in the lottery process. • Parents are NOT required to attend the info nights in order to submit a lottery slip. • Slips must be received by 6 PM on May 17th *
Parent Info Nights Standard Agenda: • Welcome families • PowerPoint on process • Excitement about afterschool • Distribute Lottery slips *
Lottery Slips • Created by SCUSD for uniformity • Available on site on May 13th • Only one slip per family • SCUSD will also collect for records *
Timelines • Week of May 13-17: Parent info nights Lottery submissions are accepted • Week of May 20-24 Submissions entered into database • Week of May 27-31 Lottery system is run. Selections are made • Week of June 3-7 All parents/Guardians are notified *
