When do I Need a Permit • A new building, structural change, addition, finishing and unfinished area • Deck • Covered porch • Utility building • Carport or Garage • Swimming Pool • Adding a Chimney or Fireplace • Permanent Sign • New Driveway • Retaining Wall 48” or higher • Home occupation • Install or remove fuel storage tank • Any use of land that requires zoning approval or change • Grade or disturb 5,000 ft or more • Daycare facility for 8 or fewer people

What do I need to get the Permit?? • It depends on what you are getting a permit for • Generally you need the following • Money $$$$ • Two sets of Building Plans • Blueprints • Site plan (Plot Plan) • Foundation • Floor / elevation • Cross Section
How long does it take and what will I get?? • After applying for the permit it will come to you in the mail within 3 to 12 business days • You will receive your building permit • This must be displayed on the structure at all times • You will also receive an inspection check sheet signifying when you need to call for inspections and what is to be inspected
