Acts 20 • “compelled by the Spirit”v.22 • “Spirit warns me” v.23 • “complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me” v.24
Why has Paul received these warnings? Possibilities 1) These warnings are intended to convince him not to go to Jerusalem and in pressing on he is “out of God’s will. 2) These warnings are to prepare him for what awaits him in Jerusalem. 3) These warnings are intended to test his resolve and his pressing on is a sign of his obedience and faith.
Types of Prophecy • Partial because usually touches only a small segment of our lives. • Progressive because it unfolds and expands over the years. • Conditional because it’s fulfillment requires the participation and cooperation of the one who receives the word.
