Lindsey received the “Be Kind to Animals Kid” aware because she was already dedicated to helping animals. I know this because when Lindsey received a picture of a harmless animal in the mail, she did everything in her power to help. Though she could not get a job at an animal shelter, (she was only ten at the time) Lindsey wrote to a newspaper proposing a column featuring a different homeless pet every issue. The column was successful and Lindsey even wrote the first article to it herself. Despite this she wanted to do more to help, with a little assistance, she created a PetsPal website featuring homeless pets. Almost 300 animals were adopted through this website. Lindsey has done more for animals than most people do in a lifetime. The student lists more than four text-based details.
