Work Closely withCode Services Vacant homes in West End identified and secured by Code Services Police personnel making contact with property owners in order to complete Trespass Agreements (37% complete) Implemented checking system in which all vacant properties are checked for trespassers during evening/night multiple times per week
Citizen Education to Minimize Victimization Salisbury Post article on March 9th “Anatomy of a Break-in” Diagram of home with numerous recommendations for minimizing burglary 2. Offer home visits to assess and make individualized recommendations Now being completed routinely by current Community Relations Officer
2nd Street Crimes Unit “Police Interdiction Team” Actively working through logistics for completion of this strategy Anticipated Implementation mid April, 2014
Re-Design of Patrol Beatsto Four Quadrant System Will result in the re-allocation of manpower to assign (3) police officers per shift within the West End community Quadrant Coincide with move of Telecommunicators and new CAD system to the new 9-1-1 facility Anticipated implementation of mid April, 2014
