1-syllable adjectives, 2-syllable adjectives and adjectives ending in -y
When an adjective ends in -e • We only add –r or –st • Safe • Safer • Safest
When an adjective ends in cvc • Double the final “c” • Thin • Thinner • Thinnest • Trim • Trimmer • trimmest
2 syllables and ends in “y” • Change the “y” to “i” and add –er or –est • Funny • Funnier • Funniest
