English Superlative • To make statements that compare one item to many others in its category, the superlative form of the adjective is used. • The English superlative is composed of the most or the least + adejective or the adjective + the ending –est. • “This is the largest mall in the state”
Spanish Superlative • A. In Spanish the superlative of an adjective is formed using thge following construction: más DEFINITE ARTICLE (+NOUN) + +ADJECTIVE + de menos Antonio compró lacadena de oro máscaradela joyería. Antonio bought the most expensive gold chain in the jewelry store. Note that in these superlative construction de = in.

With verb SER • C. After forms of ser the noun is frequently omitted from superlatives constructions. • Esta zapatería es la más grande de Quito, pero aquella es la mejor. • This shoes store is the largest in Quito, but that one is the best.
